Andrew Cowley joined Macquarie as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Macquarie Airports in October 2006.

Macquarie Airports is now one of the world’s largest strategic airport investors with significant interests in: Sydney, Brussels, Copenhagen and Bristol. Andrew is a Director of Brussels and Copenhagen airports.

More recently Andrew has been nominated Chief Executive Officer of Macquarie Renaissance Infrastructure Fund, a new fund formed in a joint venture with Renaissance Group to invest in infrastructure assets in Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.

Prior to joining Macquarie, Andrew managed the private equity business based in London for Allianz AG, Europe’s largest financial services company with €1.3 trillion under management. Andrew served on the investment committees of various private equity funds managed by Allianz and on the boards of portfolio companies with operations in infrastructure, energy, business services and technology. Before joining Allianz in 2001, Andrew was chairman of Dresdner Bank’s business in Russia, where he lived for seven years, and had ten years experience as an investment banker. Earlier in his career he also worked for The Economist in New York, Hong Kong and Moscow.
