Michael Dee recently joined Temasek Holdings as Senior Managing Director - International. Temasek Holdings is the Singapore-owned Investment Company with assets of $135bn and an average shareholder return of 18% since it's inception in 1974. Temasek has stakes in a wide array of leading corporations including Singapore Telecom, Singapore Airlines, Merrill Lynch, Standard Chartered, ICICI and China Construction Bank. Temasek has offices in China, India, Vietnam, Mexico and Brazil.
Prior to joining Temasek, for 25 years Michael was an investment banker at Morgan Stanley, having lived overseas for 15 years in London, China and Singapore completing transactions in over 50 countries. During his career he has brought an interest in transaction complexity and a commitment to excellence. Aside from his skills and experience as an investment banker Michael has a unique ability to integrate into local cultures and make an impact well beyond that of traditional financial analysis and has been deeply engaged in various educational and cultural initiatives.
Michael received a bachelor's degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1981 and was awarded the Senior Honor of the Sol Fienstone Award for university and community service. He credits his career and life success to the education he received at Penn.
Michael and his wife Shelly live in Singapore, have three sons, adopted their awesome daughter in China, and have had an Asian AFS student living with them for the last two years from China and Thailand.
